Vintage: 2024 |D.O. Bierzo | Aging: 6 months on lees |Format:1Magnum
The Godello 2024 from Luna Beberide is presented in its most prestigious format: the Magnum bottle of 1.5 litres. This format is not only ideal for sharing on grand occasions, but technically allows for a slower and more harmonious evolution of the wine, better preserving its freshness and complexity. Made from a selection of old vineyards over 60 years old, this white is the crown jewel of Bercian viticulture.
Magnum Advantage: With a greater proportion of wine compared to the amount of air in the neck of the bottle, Godello evolves with greater elegance and longevity than in a standard bottle.
Quality of Old Vines: Clonal recovery of the most exclusive old Godello plots in Bierzo, situated on decomposed slate soils.
6 Months Aging: A controlled resting on its fine lees that gives it perfect volume and creaminess for a format of this size.
Visual Phase: Pale golden colour with very bright metallic reflections.
Olfactory Phase: Magnificent, seductive and fresh nose. Sweet aromas of rose petals with the herbaceous and mineral memory of fennel.
Gustatory Phase: Balanced palate with an excellent journey. Its nerve and good acidity stand out, showcasing all the mineral and saline personality of the old Godello.
Although the 2024 vintage is new, the Godello from Luna Beberide is a regular on elite lists:
2022:91 PointsWine Spectator.
2021:91 PointsRobert Parker| 92 PointsWine Enthusiast.
2019:90 PointsParker (The Wine Advocate).
Better Ageing: Ideal for cellaring, as the wine stays "younger" for longer.
Table Impact: It is the star format for celebrations, family dinners or corporate gifts.
Efficiency: It is equivalent to two standard bottles, ensuring that the wine does not run out during the meal.
Special Pairing:
Thanks to its volume, it is perfect for accompanying large fish (turbot or baked sea bream), seafood rice dishes, and of course, a generous platter of Vallelongo Black Cow Cheese, where the Magnum format allows you to enjoy the evolution of the wine alongside the intensity of the cheese.
